Pride 2019 Interlude: Blake

It's Pride Month again, which means I get to call anything that inconveniences me "homophobic" throughout the entirety of June. Right? ...Maybe not, but I definitely wanted to honor the occasion (while staying somewhat on-theme with my continuation of MerMay) by drawing the handsome comic book personality and Proud supporter of the arts Blake (known on this series of tubes as "eggsandblakon") as an otter-merman (an otter-centaur? ...an ottaur, if you will) in a cheeky nod to the various zoological terms used in the LGBT+ community. Enjoy! 😋

In all seriousness, I think Pride Month is a very important time of year for anyone who identifies as LGBT+. It's a time to connect with likeminded individuals and groups, a time for personal healing, a time to feel, well, proud of who you are and for finding the courage to be true to yourself. So here's to all the brave individuals, out or not, who take pride in their identities—remember that you're not alone. Happy Pride!
