An art trade between myself and @_la_pa_ on Instagram! I drew her characters Jun, a sweet-but-skittish centaur, and Izel, a kind-but-mysterious shapeshifter (to be fair, most shapeshifters are pretty mysterious since, you know, you can't ever be sure of who—or WHAT—they really are). Here they are setting off together on a morning constitutional; judging from their attire (or, in Jun's case, lack thereof), it seems they're each uniquely acclimated to the desert's brisk, early-morning air. No matter, though, as they both seem equally adjusted to each other's proclivities. Whether or not Jun will be able to get Izel to say more than the three words he's already uttered is still a mystery in and of itself, however.
I asked @_la_pa_ to draw my characters King Cleo (the bipedal redhead) and King Ceryn (the antlered quadruped), star-crossed loverboys from my in-development High Fantasy project—boooyy howdy did she really do a phenomenal job with them! It's as if she took a scene straight from my own mind and put it to canvas, perfectly capturing the intimacy I imagine between the two kings, as well as the rosy, dreamlike environment of the Brumewood. Thank you so much for this beautiful illustration, @_la_pa_! I don't think I can properly express in words just how in love with it I am!
