Beware, beware the Headless Horse-Man! Spiteful and vain, this fell spirit rides each year in search of a head to crown his monstrous, disparate form. If thou art fair of face, don a mask this Hallow’s Eve to protect thyself from the wrath of the Headless Horse-Man!
What could have spawned such a terrible creature, you ask? Look no further than the Jack-O-Lanterns that decorate doorsteps during the autumn season: those whose expressions are carved thoughtfully will repel evil spirits such as the Headless Horse-Man from one’s home. But those whose knife work is sloppy will create a monster: a Jack-O-Lantern who hates its face will seek bloody revenge against the household who mutilated it so before it absconds into the night, beginning its quest to create its vision of a perfect, beautiful body. The Headless Horse-Man is but one of the many monsters borne of mangled Jack-O-Lanterns; until more learn to respect the art of Jack-O-Lantern carving, you can bet there will be many more of these beasts to be wary of for generations to come!
Happy Halloween, y’all! 🎃
