#FranklyForever: @xiaobigjie

Congratulations to @xiaobigjie for winning a third-place prize in my #FranklyForever giveaway! In addition to merch, third-place winners receive a flat-color character sketch, but @xiaobigjie opted to upgrade their prize in order to do the scene they had in mind justice.

Here is @xiaobigjie's character John, a military man who dreams of a life of freedom out at sea. One evening while out taking one of his usual sunset constitutionals along the shoreline John encounters a beached sunfish washed up on the sand. The sunfish, knowledgable of certain arcane magics, offers to transform John into a merman in exchange for helping him back into the water and John accepts the sunfish's offer without a second thought. But unbeknownst to John, accepting the offer causes his sudden mermanification before he's able to hold up his end of the bargain. Now legless and beached himself, John has to use all the strength his arms can muster to get the sunfish back in the water as quickly as possible before BOTH of them are left high and dry on the shore.
